Skansie Brothers Park, Downtown Gig Harbor
The 5th Annual Gig Harbor Paddlers Cup, held at scenic Skansie Brothers Park, is the premiere event for Pacific Northwest canoe, kayak, paddleboard, dragonboat and outrigger athletes and enthusiasts alike. This two-day event features competitive racing for the expert, novice and recreationalist as well as youth paddlers.
On Saturday, challenge yourself physically and mentally as you compete for the best time in 5k and 10k distance racing inside the harbor. Also, experience the fun of facing-off in lively head-to-head 100m knock-off and 200m relay competitions.
On Sunday, you can brave the turbulent waters of the Tacoma Narrows as you compete in the Paddlers Cup Cross Narrows Challenge. If that’s not quite your style then check out the newly added Dragon Boat races taking place inside the harbor.
On shore, the Gig Harbor Paddlers Cup hosts vendors featuring the industry’s top manufacturers, clubs, retailers, non-profit organizations and more.
Proceeds from the Paddlers Cup benefit the Gig Harbor Canoe & Kayak Racing Team.
