The Gig Harbor Paddlers Cup is the premier event for Pacific Northwest paddle enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. Organized by the Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team, this annual community event features paddle racing for kayaks, canoes, stand up and prone paddleboards, outriggers, para-canoes, and dragon boats.
Race proceeds benefit the Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community organization committed to introducing youth to the sport of Olympic Sprint Canoe and Kayak Racing, and the Gig Harbor Dragons Boat Club, a 501(c)3 nonprofit community organization that fosters a supportive, inclusive community focused on competition, sportsmanship, and personal growth, empowering athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the water.
Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team has a history of excellence, producing multiple national champions and world-class athletes. The team won the USA National Team Championships in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025.
